Station II — the Bronze Altar

‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’ The altar of sacrifice points to the Cross — Jesus, our once-for-all sacrifice.

No condemnation

‘There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.’ We are justified by His blood, made the righteousness of God, dead to sin, and a new creation.

The guilty conscience

Unbelief brings a guilty conscience that stops us coming. At the cross Jesus waits to cleanse us — ‘if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive.’
